Top Highlights: Appeared in six games, starting all six at right guard…played all 70 snaps in a win at Georgia Southern, blocking for a unit that averaged 10.6 yards per rush and finished with a season-high 651 total yards (Aug. 31)...returned from injury to start at Wyoming, earning a team-high pass blocking grade of 84.6 (Nov. 23)...did not allow a sack all season, contributing to a unit that allowed the 12th-fewest sacks per game in the nation (1.07)...paved the way for a unit that ranked fifth in the FBS in scoring (37.3 ppg) and eighth in rushing (240.4) and total offense (466.0).

·       Top Highlights: Started in 25 of 29 matches primarily at setter...led team in assists 11 times, in service aces once and digs on four occasions...had a team-third-best seven double-doubles (assists/digs)...had 10 matches with double-figure digs...nine contests with 20-plus assists...first action as a Bronco was in the season opener at Arizona (Aug. 30) recording two kills, a team-high 19 assists, team and season-high 16 digs...recorded a season-high seven kills, tied high for blocks with three to go with a season-best 9.5 points at Fresno State (Sept. 26)...hit season-best .500 (6-1-10) against Utah Valley (Sept. 7)...turned in a season-high 27 assists to go with a career-high (tied) 16 digs in win over San Diego State (Oct. 24).

PRIOR TO COLLEGE

  •     High School: A 2024 graduate of Gonzaga Prep in Spokane, Wash….a four-year starter at setter/outside hitter on the varsity team coached by Nikki Leonard...a 2023 AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, 2023 all-state first team, 2022 honorable-mention all-state, and four-time All-Greater Spokane League honoree -- three on the first team…helped lead the Bullpups to three consecutive Washington 4A State championships…as a senior recorded 266 assists and averaged 4.8 assists per set, 2.2 kills, 0.5 blocks, 0.6 service aces and 3.3 digs.


  • Club: Played club ball the last two years of her youth career for the CPA Volleyball Club of Spokane for coaches Wade and Jill Benson

Paige Bartsch is a dominant force on the court. Throughout her four-year varsity career at Capital High School (CHS) in Helena, Montana, Paige won many awards and finished her senior year with 237 kills, 38 service aces, 121 digs, and 71 blocks. She set six CHS records, including 202 career aces and 283 blocks. 


Despite missing the first month of her first year (2021) at BSU because of an injury, Paige led the team in points five times, kills three, service aces six, and blocks three times. And she tallied up six matches with double-digit kills. 

Paige continued to be a threat her sophomore year, with 419 kills for the year (3.95 kills/game). And she did it all while maintaining a 3.5 or higher GPA. 

Paige enjoys her Ford Bronco in the off-season. 

We are proud to have Paige on the Lithia Ford of Boise NIL team.

Matt Lauter is a Redshirt Junior from Gainesville, Florida. During his junior season, Matt recorded 20 catches for 316 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 15.8 yards per catch. He also has experience on defense, with 47 tackles on defense and a pick-six. 

 

At BSU, Lauter plays tight end and wears number 85. His accolades include Academic All-Mountain West (Fall 2022), top ten tight end according to PFF, and he’s lettered twice. In the 2023 season, Matt posted nine receptions for 157 yards and three TDs.

 

In the 2203-24 season, Matt appeared in all 14 games, making his first career start against Utah State. Matt made his first career catch at UTEP and registered a career-high three receptions with 38 yards receiving against Utah State (Nov. 25). 

 

Matt enjoys golf, fishing, eating with friends at local restaurants, and playing Xbox. He will drive a 2023 Ford F-150 Super Crew for the 2024-2025 season.

Andrew Simpson is a junior from Norwalk, California, who plays linebacker and edge for BSU. He wears number 10. He is an academic athlete with multiple awards, including CFN All-American, All-Mountain West Team, and PPFF Highest Grade Performer, and he has lettered twice. 

 

As a sophomore, Andrew helped St. John Bosco finish 14-0 and rank No. 1. His senior year, Andrew was a three-star recruit (247Sports) with 35 tackles (one sack), three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. Sports Illustrated listed him as an All-American Watch List member. 

 

During his first year at BSU (2022-23), Andrew played all 14 games, including three starts. He made 29 tackles, with three sacks, and blocked a punt that resulted in a touchdown at New Mexico. 

 

In the 2023-24 season, Andrew had a season high in tackles at Fresno State with 12, 6.5 of which were sacks. He also had two interceptions.

 

Andrew enjoys watching/playing basketball/football, working out, doing community service, listening to music, playing video games, attending church, reading, watching movies, concerts, and traveling. 

 

For the 2024-2025 season, Andrew will drive a 2023 Ford Bronco.

Ahmed Hassanein, from Cairo, Egypt, is a Senior at BSU. Hassanein wears number 91 and plays defensive end. As an academic athlete, he was awarded Academic All-American 2nd team, CSC Academic All-District 7 (2022-23), two-time Academic All-Mountain West (Fall 2021 and 2022), and Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2021-22). 

 

As a three-star recruit per 247Sports and Rival, Ahmed rated as one of the top recruits at his position(No. 84). Ahmed grew up in Egypt, where he ranked No. 1 in Egypt and No. 14 in Africa for his age group in CrossFit. His first season of competitive football was in 2019 when he was awarded Garden Grove League Lineman of the Year and All-CIF selection. 

 

As a freshman and sophomore at BSU, Ahmed played nine games each season. As a freshman, he registered five tackles and one quarterback hurry. During his sophomore year, Ahmed tallied 13 tackles, including a pair of sacks. During Ahmed’s junior year (2023-24), he racked up 53 tackles with 12.5 sacks and eight quarterback hurries. His stellar performance resulted in Ahmed being named 1st team All Mtn West for the 2023 season.

 

When Ahmed is not playing football, he enjoys working out, jujitsu, fishing, being outside, bike riding, meeting new people, learning instruments, and cooking.  

 

Hassanein will receive a 2023 Ford F-150 Super Crew for the 2024-2025 season.

Jonah Dalmas is a two-sport standout from Meridian, ID. He played soccer and football for Rock Mountain and was a 5A All-Idaho selection in 2016. He was also Idaho’s 2016-17 Gatorade State Player of the Year in soccer and shared 5A Southern Idaho Conference Boys Soccer Player of the Year honors as a senior. 

 

Dalmas has played football for BSU for the last four years. He wears the number 35 as their starting kicker. As a freshman, he had an 87.5 field goal percentage, appeared in all seven games, and opened the season as Boise State's No. 1 kicker, hitting all six PAT attempts against Utah State. 

 

During his second year as a Bronco, Dalmas appeared in all 12 games, boasted 26 of 28 field goals with a 92.9 field goal percentage, and averaged 9.7 points per game. His reliability as a kicker helped secure multiple wins throughout the season.

 

In 2022, Dalmas entered his third year as BSU’s kicker and played all 14 games. He made 23 field goals and scored 117 points throughout the season. Dalmas took over as the primary kickoff specialist for the last eight games of the season, recording 20 touchbacks on 48 kickoffs and averaging 60.1 yards per attempt.  

 

During the 2023 season, Dalmas had an 88.9 field goal percentage (90.9 on attempts of 40+ yards). He also was responsible for 120 points on the season. As an academic athlete, he has an impressive list of honors, including:

When he’s not on the field, Dalmas enjoys hanging out with his wife, friends, and family. He also loves to golf, watch movies, sing, and play instruments.

 

He will receive a 2024 Ford Explorer for the 2024-2025 season.
