Fortunately though, according to the folks at AutoGuide.com, consumers can expect to see a diesel engine added to the lineup sometime next year. How can they say so with such confidence? As it turns out, their team was able to catch the prototype in action. Read on below:

While Ford is currently keeping their lips sealed, rumor is that the engine will be a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel. Developed by both Ford and Land Rover some time ago, this turbocharged engine would boast 254-horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque if utilized and is expected to be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
